Donna DeWitt, O.S.B.

Donna DeWitt moved to St. Leo in 1963 to become a member of the Benedictine Sisters of Florida.  She taught elementary school for over many years and then managed the kitchen at Holy Name Monastery for over twenty-six years.  Sister Donna decided to return to education in 2008 where she taught grade school children at Sacred Heart Early Childhood Center.  She has now retired and has been volunteering at Daystar Hope in the food pantry and answering phones at Sacred Heart.   

Along with several responsibilities for the Sisters and guests at the monastery, Sister Donna’s calling to serve includes a seat on the town’s commission since 1997.  With a reputation for being knowledgeable about town operations and needs, DeWitt strives to view both sides of issues.  Her allegiance is to what is best for the town with a priority on keeping its rural charm.

Sister Donna's current term began on May 9, 2022 and will end in April of 2024.
