07/29/20 Pasco Urges Storm Preps, Monitoring of Potential Tropical Storm

~~Be prepared for possible rain/wind event this weekend~~

PASCO COUNTY, FL  ----  Pasco County’s Department of Emergency Management wants to remind you to be prepared for the possibility of heavy rain, flooding and wind this weekend as the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) monitors the track of Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine.

Pasco County is included in the National Weather Service’s 5-day forecast for this storm system, so please monitor local media and weather outlets for the latest updates.  Meanwhile, there are several things you can do now to prepare for any potential impacts:

     - Secure loose items around your home and yard. (Lawn chairs, umbrellas, trash cans, etc.)

     - Low-lying areas are prone to flooding.  Please avoid all floodwaters.

     - Check your Disaster Kit, and make sure it also includes face coverings and hand sanitizer.

     - Have a plan for you and your family.  (Accommodations, child/elder/pet care, etc.)

     - Maintain a list of important family numbers and contacts.
